CWF Child and Adult Modular Training

     

    The CWF Modules Training Team

    The training is conducted by a team of experienced CWF trainers from the Dawen CWF Training Centre (CWFTC). This team of trainers are also experienced CWF counsellors themselves, thus are able to provide practical and relevant skills based training. The training is offered China wide. It consists of four Child Modules and three Adult Modules and will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of the CWF counselling framework.

    CWF Child Modules

    Training Purpose

    DaWen/The Bridge believes that success in working with children and adults comes from being able to give and receive love. The focus, therefore, is on helping children and adults from the heart, believing that transformation can happen from the inside

    • Firstly, trainee’s will learn how to connect with children from the Heart, how to understand the whole child, as well as how to respond from the heart.
    • Secondly, trainee’s will be taken on a journey of personal transformation/personal growth.
      Because the Caregivers/People Helper’s/Counsellor’s heart matters as much as the child’s heart.

    Through our trainings we are a voice for children, and especially children who are left behind, orphaned, and children who are traumatised.

    Who the training is for

    We are training Caregivers, Teachers and Counsellors.
    “I want to help children when they show difficult behaviours....... I want to improve my child helping and also learn basic Child Counselling skills...... I work with children and want to up skill myself to keep my motivation.”
    If this is what you are also desiring , the CWF Modular training aims to help you achieve this goal. This training is for anyone who is actively helping children on a formal or informal basis and wants to develop or strengthen their Child helping or Child counselling skills.

    We are training

    • Care givers in Institutions or Foster homes
    • Teachers
    • Social workers
    • Counsellors
    • Others who work in schools/orphanages/child organisations or in People Helping/Counselling settings

    In our trainings we also pay attention to the specific setting of your group, e.g. Special needs children (mentally handicapped, physically handicapped), Migrant school setting, or other relevant settings. Our training's are suitable for anyone working with children and adolescents.

    How we train?

    We are using the wholistic CWF framework, integrating social, physical, mental, heart and spirit of a child, believing we can help the child better when we look at the whole child instead of only one part such as the child’s behaviour.
    Our Training's are done in a participatory way, using ‘TASK’:
    T - Transformation, happens through A - attitude, S - skills and K - knowledge
    We train in a participatory way through Skill practice, Discussion time, Role-plays, asking questions, experiential exercises

    1. CWF Foundations Module (16 hours/2 days)
    Care for yourself, so you can care for others'

    It will provide you with understanding of your own Heart through the CWF Circles, and develop your TASK (Transformation - Attitude, Skills, Task)
    It addresses issues of Compassion Fatigue and Compassion Satisfaction, how to build your ‘Pyramid of Support’, and care for yourself wholistically
    It will equip you for personal growth, trust building, and safety in small groups

    2. CWF Child Module 1 (30 hours/4 days)
    ‘Children with Attachment and Attunement Needs’

    It will equip you with understanding of the whole child through the CWF Circles
    It provides an introduction to the concept of SAFETY when helping children.
    You will learn how to connect with a child from the heart using non-verbals and attunement
    It will teach you how to understand the heart and social circle of a child, especially the Attachment needs of children and the rebuilding of a child’s Secure base
    You will learn response tools as part of the CUREE process: Attachment in the Class/care room, Circle time Throughout you will practice your TASK (Transformation of attitudes, skills, knowledge)
    It addresses issues of Carer’s self care, because the caregiver’s heart matters

    3. CWF Child Module 2 (30 hours/4 days)
    ‘Emotion Regulation’

    It focuses on working with children’s emotions, Emotion regulation, and the Neuroscience of Emotion regulation
    It provides you with in depth insight into the CWF Mind Circle and Physical Circle and how it relates to children’s emotion
    You will be equipped with skills in Sequential Emotional Regulation, and staying attuned to the child throughout all emotions
    It will help you process and manage your own emotions and handling children’s projection on the caregiver It will equip you using the Child CUREE process and get familiar with play methods

    You will learn how to have healthy boundaries with children
    Throughout you will practice your TASK (Transformation of attitudes, skills, knowledge) It addresses issues of Carer’s self care, because the caregiver’s heart matters always

    4. CWF Child Module3(30hours)
    ‘Trauma Pedagogy’

    It addresses issues of Developmental trauma and a Care plan for complex traumatised children
    It will continue to teach you how to use the Child CUREE process, especially Engaging other Help, and Evaluate It will help you improve your skills in psycho-social Interventions
    It will help you growing your Peer support, and develop your learning plan

    5. Follow up

    TASK group ( Total of 10 hours):
    Following Module 1 and following Module 2, participants will be required to attend a TASK group (Peer Support Group) which meets regularly.

    Child Worker Conference
    Dawen/The Bridge is hosting a China-wide conference for Child Workers every year. This conference is open to all those who work with children in orphanages, kindergartens, or schools and whether they be migrant children, street kids, or other kinds of children. Through the plenary sessions and a wide range of supplementary workshops and opportunities to network together with other Child Workers, the conference aims to equip those who work with children to do so from the heart, with greater skills, more confidence, and stronger support.

    CWF Adult Modules

    CWF Modular Training – Training Pathway

    The training is conducted by a team of experienced CWF trainers from the CWF Training Centre (CWFTC). This team of trainers are also experienced CWF counsellors themselves, thus are able to provide practical and relevant skills based training.

    The training is offered China wide. It consists of 3 modules and will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of the CWF counselling framework which integrates Psychology and Spirituality It will provide you with tools and skills to connect with and understand the whole person, and to work with a variety of problems that are presented when counselling and helping others.

    Who the training is for

    “I want to be more effective in helping someone who has depression... I want to serve people around me better... I want to even grow in my practical counselling skill.”

    If this is what you are also desiring , the CWF Modular training aims to help you achieve this goal. This training is for anyone who is actively helping others on a formal or informal basis and wants to develop or strengthen your counselling skills.

    1. CWF Foundations Module (16 hours)

    2. CWF Adult Module 1 (5 days)

    It will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of the 5 steps and the 5 symbols of CWF It provides an introduction to and practice of basic counselling skills
    It addresses issues of boundaries, self care, referral, and supervision

    3. CWF Adult Module 2 (5 days)

    It focuses on working with emotions
    It will first help you process and manage your own emotions
    It will equip you with the skills in understanding and managing strong emotions and mental health issues like depression, suicide, anxiety and anger

    4. Follow up: TASK group ( Total of 10 hours)

    Following Module 1 and following Module 2 training, participants will be required to attend the TASK group which meets regularly
